About
Why We Farm
Daisyfish Farm is a small-scale, no-till, regenerative farm located on Bluestone Creek in Danielsville, GA. At the core of our farm is an important collaboration with the ecology of our land, and with you, our community. This collaboration is a grateful celebration of the cook, the farmer, the land and life!
What does it mean to farm in this way?
-
We use farming methods and tools that protect soil life and pollinators
-
We are micro herders -- partners with the living microbiology and fungi of our soil, carefully nurturing and building the soil diversity that supports plant health
-
We use amendments that promote balance in our farm ecology
-
We value and rely on human-scale labor
Why does this way of farming matter?
Soil health = plant health = human health.
We understand that each life flourishes by the support of unseen and unknown communities. We farm in a way that protects and nurtures diversity. Diverse soil life forms community with plants, cooperating with and supporting a plant to build an elegant architecture of flavor and nutrients. In turn, food grown in this way supports your vitality -- your own resilient architecture. When you support a farm like ours, you sustain a way of farming that matters. You also support the farmers who, it turns out, just really like feeding people. Let's flourish together!
